Abstract

Abstract
This article analyzes the rise of mixed marriages between Moroccan women and Turkish men, a growing phenomenon seemingly influenced by the widespread diffusion of Turkish television series in Morocco. These productions, characterized by narratives interweaving romance, family, and tradition, shape marital perceptions by idealizing gender roles and portraying the male figure as protective and caring. The study is based on a qualitative analysis of six cases of Moroccan women married to Turkish men, aiming to explore the dynamics of intercultural communication that emerge from these unions, particularly in terms of integration processes, identity adjustments, and relationships with in-laws. The findings reveal that while these series contribute to enhancing the appeal of such marriages by fostering positive imaginaries, they also create idealized expectations that may lead to a gap between fiction and reality. This research thus sheds light on the impact of media on marital aspirations and representations of marriage within an intercultural context.
